According to Dr Conor Murphy, Senior Lecturer in Geography at Maynooth University and a team of researchers, have confirmed Ireland experienced its heaviest rainfall in the decade 2006-2015 compared to any other decade during the past 305 years.

The most significant takeaway from the research data reveals that over the long-term, winters are getting wetter and summers are getting drier. This has serious implications for many sports such as golf, GAA and soccer.
